More information:
Presenting immigration as an isolated issue about "illegal" people triggers ideas that the world is inherently dangerous, and that America's culture, its place in the world, and its prosperity are under attack. Accepting this deep conservative frame weakens our empathy and resolve to cooperate and reach solutions. To implement effective policies, progressives must change the "common sense" that surrounds immigration, and Rockridge is taking up this challenge.
