Christina Smith

Summer Research Intern

Christina M. Smith is a doctoral student in Rhetoric in the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication at Arizona State University. She received her M.A. in Mass Communication & Media Studies from San Diego State University. Ms. Smith studies political communication and media framing, with an emphasis on media coverage of warfare and gender issues. She has a forthcoming article in the Western Journal of Communication (co-authored with George Dionisopoulos), which examines the “break” of the good vs. evil frame that occurred upon the release of the Abu Ghraib images. Ms. Smith has joined the Rockridge Institute as a summer research intern for the Behind the Fourth Wall political media initiative.
