The Rockridge Institute is committed to protecting your privacy and security as a visitor to our websites. This page describes the online privacy policy for information collected through our websites, email lists, and online donation forms. If you have questions about these policies, we encourage you to contact us through our contact form.

Browser Information:

As with any website operator, the Rockridge Institute analyzes our website logs to improve the effectiveness of our websites. We use an external service to provide information to us and our authorized agents of browser accesses to our sites. This reporting includes page views, unique views, unique visitors, repeat visitors, frequency of visits, and peak-volume traffic periods. We do not use this service to gather, request, record, require, collect or track any Internet user's personally identifiable information.

Your Personal Information:

We do not disclose to other organizations your personal information, including your name, address or email addresses. Only Rockridge Institute staff and our authorized agents have access to private information that you choose to provide to us.

Joining the Rockridge Nation web community enables you to participate in public discussions related to framing and progressive values. If you choose to participate in Rockridge Nation, you are responsible for exercising discretion in the information that you choose to make public through the username that you choose, the public profile you create, the comments you make, and any other content that you submit as a Rockridge Nation member.

Personalization of Content:

We use cookies on Rockridge Nation to support some functions required for membership. You have choices with respect to cookies. By modifying your browser preferences, you have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is set, or to reject all cookies. For more information on how to modify your browser settings to block or filter cookies, see http://www.cookiecentral.com/faq/. However, choosing to reject some or all cookies might limit your experience of websites, including those operated by the Rockridge Institute. If you do not allow cookies, you will not be able to take advantage of membership or personalization offered by other Internet sites or by us.

Privacy of Our Email Subscribers:

The Rockridge Institute maintains an email list to inform persons who choose to subscribe about our research and analysis related to framing, progressive values, and the political discourse. Individuals must request to join our mailing lists, including by choosing to join Rockridge Nation. We do not share the email addresses on our lists with anyone outside of Rockridge Institute staff and authorized agents.

Protection of Children:

To protect the safety and privacy of children online, we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). COPPA and its accompanying FTC regulation establish United States federal law that protects the privacy of children using the Internet. We do not knowingly contact or collect personal information from children under 13. Our websites are not intended to solicit information of any kind from children under 13. Membership in the Rockridge Nation website is only open to persons 18 years of age or older. It is possible that by fraud or deception we may receive information pertaining to children under 13. If we are notified of this, as soon as we verify the notification, we will immediately delete the information from our servers. If you want to notify us of our receipt of information by children under 13, please do so by emailing us at webmaster (at) rockridgeinstitute.org.
